Nicole is an aeronautical engineer and calligrapher based in Nottinghamshire. "I have always loved detailed engineering drawings because they are simultaneously beautiful, detailed, and informative. As I developed my love and skill for calligraphy, I realised that I could apply this same approach to my art and paint pictures with words
Nicole is an aeronautical engineer and calligrapher based in Nottinghamshire. "I have always loved detailed engineering drawings because they are simultaneously beautiful, detailed, and informative. As I developed my love and skill for calligraphy, I realised that I could apply this same approach to my art and paint pictures with words so that they too are beautiful and informative. My work is created to tell a story – stand back and see the picture, stand close and see the story."
My artwork is completely unique – sometimes light-hearted and full of humour, sometimes informative, but all of them intricate and complex designs and all created by hand, initially with a pencil sketch and then in ink.

Having battled mental health in the past, and doodled, and sketched her way back to health, Nicole jokes that calligraphy and greeting card design is what keeps her sane - "some people meditate, some do yoga, I create calligraphy maps and greetings cards."
From those early stress reducing doodles, a bit of an idea formed. Having exhausted

From those early stress reducing doodles, a bit of an idea formed. Having exhausted gifts for friends and family she started creating bitesize artwork on greetings cards - and after selling at a few craft fairs, saw the cards go down a storm she started expanding the range- and the rest as they say is history....
Since then she has been joined by Adam, her cousin - who aside from being a dab hand at turning Nicoles calligraphy artwork into digital vectored images -is also a talented photographer and designer. 2024 sees the launch of Adams first card range, Hebaska, as well as their first hybrid collection.
